Our most ambitious event ever was hosting Velo Village 2012, a solstice weekend gathering to promote rural cycling, while Vancouver hosted Velo City 2012 for city cousins.
A lasting legacy is Velo Village’s “Salish Sea Cycling & Rural Mobility Statements”, which being adopted by governments around the world.

23 Salt Spring artists made art pieces from SRAM bicycle parts, which were auctioned to raise $22,000 for World Bicycle Relief in Africa . What invaluable volunteering, magnificent art-making, and vital help providing bicycles to Africans whose lives really open up and turn around with this liberating transportation.
